Local Name                Jai, Jayee, Gandal, Ganer(Hindi) , Avena sativa Linn (Latin name). Jai  (Marathi) , English Name : Oats, Oatmeal, Groats(English Name)

Nutritive value           Oats are rich source of   Selenium ,Vitamine-E,protein,zinc,Folic acid,Beta-glucan (soluble fiber),nacin,magnesium


Health Benefits Oats  

Reduces weight                             The high amount of soluble fiber in oats forms a gel which delays   emptying of the stomach making you feel full longer . It helps with weight loss.

Protein source                              100 gm of oats have around 18 gm of protein.

Good source of calcium       Calcium phosphorus and magnesium for bones.

Reduce stress                                  Cow milk, honey and oats meal combination reduces stress.

Blood sugar killer                        Recommended for Type 2 diabetes.

Side effects

Too much intake of fibre from oats or oat bran can cause flatulence and anal irritation.
